Nevada Housing Advocacy Coalition (NVHAC) MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Nevada Housing Advocacy Coalition (NVHAC) is to empower tenants, landlords, and property managers statewide. We promote engagement in the legislative process by facilitating collaboration and negotiation with legislators. Additionally, we educate policymakers about the housing needs of Nevadans. NVHAC aspires to effect positive change for housing providers and renters in Nevada.
The rental housing industry is constantly evolving, influenced by a variety of competing interests. Owners must meet the demand for rental housing while remaining financially viable. Tenants seek affordable, high-quality housing, and property managers strive to balance these competing interests while navigating government regulations at all levels. If you identify as one of these stakeholders and wish to become more involved, NVHAC may be the organization for you.
Our objective is to convene all stakeholders within the residential rental industry to ensure that every voice is heard. Through collaboration, we aim to maintain a vibrant and healthy residential rental market in Nevada.
Areas we believe we can address through collaboration include:
- Affordable and quality housing statewide.
- Preservation of the summary eviction process.
- Enhancement of rental assistance programs to better serve the needs of tenants and landlords.
- Strengthening of habitability laws and addressing issues in substandard housing.
- Advocating for professional changes and regulatory improvements to enhance the property management industry.
